International aviation authorities have ordered the grounding of all Boeing 787 Dreamliner jets due to fire risk. Dreamliner aircraft in the US, Europe, Asia, and elsewhere will remain on the tarmac while authorities investigate the issue, which has been linked to battery failure. Since July, Dreamliner jets have suffered electrical fires, oil leaks, fuel leaks, and cracked windows. More bad news for Lance Armstrong. The International Olympic Committee is demanding he give back the bronze medal he won at the 2000 Summer Games in Sydney. The news comes just hours before Armstrong_s highly-anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which he admits to the use of illegal performance enhancing drugs. 30 people have been arrested on suspicion of extortion, racketeering, fraud, and loan sharking. According to the FBI, the group had been targeting private trash removal companies throughout the New York area. The majority of those taken into custody are said to be affiliated with the regionis five organized crime families.A U.S. employee has lost his six-figure software developer job after investigators found heid been outsourcing all his assignments to China. Sources at Verizon, which conducted the audit, say the unnamed man paid 50 thousand dollars a year to a company based in Shenyang, even FedEx-ing his security token so they could log in under his name.

What_s the latest Kat?KC) Vic, as you just mentioned a number of sources, including those in the Winfrey camp, have confirmed the cyclist admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs. This is a stark turnaround for Armstrong, whois spent more than a decade angrily denying even the slightest wrongdoing. Those present at the interview say it was both awkward and emotional.KC) Interestingly enough, Armstrong gave an extensive apology earlier in the day to the staff of his cancer charity, Livestrong. So why open up after all this time? A number of outlets say a clean slate could help pave the way for a long-term comeback strategy: one that might lead to new sponsorship deals and the chance to compete in triathlons. It_s the day that millions of Americans have been waiting for, as voters head to the polls to select their next President. It_s been a tight race that_s gone right down to the wire. For more on what_s sure to be an exciting election day, we_ll turn to Eila Adams.That_s right Vic, tens of millions of US citizens are heading to the polls to make their voices heard. Mitt Romney and Barack Obama have spent many months on the campaign trail trying to sway voters. It_s been a long, tough, and expensive race. The candidates_ combined campaign costs have topped the two billion dollar mark. But now, the ultimate decision rests with the people. Early polls show that Obama and Romney are still neck and neck, Vic, although the President appears to have a slight lead in some important swing states. Officials expect to have some concrete election results by midnight. Traditionally on Election Day, both candidates spend the final hours in their home states. But Mitt Romney did away with tradition on Tuesday, making one last dash for votes in two crucial swing states. Romney made quick stops in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, and Cleveland Ohio. He took time to thank volunteers, and also looked to drum up a last minute surge of support. And it just may have worked Obama still has a slight lead in Ohio, Vic, but some experts say Romney is coming on in Pennsylvania. So after his last ditch campaign stops, where will Mr. Romney be spending election night?Romney will be watching the final numbers come in from a rally in Boston. Obama, meanwhile, will be doing the same at a convention centre in Chicago.Should be a very long and very exciting night. Thank you Eila.As the numbers pour in on election night, many viewers - especially those of you outside of the US - may wonder how it all works. You see, the US president is not decided by a simple popular vote. Instead, a process called the electoral college is applied. Each state is given a certain number of electoral votes, determined by the size of its Congressional delegation. California, for example, has 55 electoral votes, while Montana has only 3. There are 538 votes in total, so the winning number for either candidate is 270. In essence, Mr. Romney could actually garner more of the popular vote nationwide than Barack Obama, but still lose the election, and vice versa.With that, it_s time we took a quick break from the headlines.
