We_re in the dog days of summer, and what better way to cool off than by escaping to the cozy confines of a darkened movie theater? For my money there_s nothing better Except for one problem these days. It feels like Hollywood is producing NOTHING but superhero movies Avengers 2, Ant Man, and ANOTHER Fantastic Four remake? Seriously guys, do you think maybe, just MAYBE, we_re scraping the bottom of the barrel yet? And believe it or not, 2015 has actually had FEWER superhero movies than any year this decade. But don_t expect THAT trend to last. NEXT summer we_re being bombarded with at LEAST 7 of them Don_t get me wrong - I used to LOVE superhero flicks. Who could forget The Dark Knight? In the immortal words of Kanye, I_m sorry, but Batman had one of the best videos of all time It_s pretty much been downhill ever since.Even Iron Man himself - Robert Downey Jr. - has publicly admitted the superhero trend is getting a little bit old. A little bit, Robert? That_s like saying Caitlyn Jenner_s had a little bit of plastic surgery. And that_s from a guy who made 80 million dollars off Marvel movies this year. And of course, that_s the reason Spiderman and Superman and all the others keep getting rebooted: money. If you want the trend to stop, quit giving Hollywood your hard earned dollars for these CGI stinkers. They keep making big bucks, and there_s nothing showbiz loves more than a sure thingSo if you want more Birdman and less Ben Affleck Batman sequels, let your money do the talking at the box office Because unlike the budget of the next Captain America sequel TALK IS CHEAP
