Welcome to Naked News, I_m Victoria Sinclair. We_ll begin in the Middle East, and more specifically, the West Bank city of Ramallah. On Monday, investigators exhumed the remains of iconic Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. French, Russian, and Swiss experts will look over the samples for signs that he was poisoned. Arafat died in Paris in 2004. At the time, official medical records stated that he suffered a stroke. But a murder inquiry was sparked in August, when independent researchers found traces of radioactive polonium-2-10 on his personal effects. It could be months before analysts reach a definitive answer. After days of unrest in the streets of Cairo, it appears Egyptian leaders have reached a compromise over last week_s controversial decree from President Mohammed Morsi. The move had been viewed by many Egyptians and international observers as a blatant power grab. Erica Stevens joins us now with details of this latest agreement. Erica?Vic, Morsi has backed off of his decree for self-appointed sweeping powers. After a meeting with Egyptian judiciary members, Morsi will now only control rulings on sovereign decisions, such as declarations of war. But he will NOT have the type of dictatorial powers that many feared when he first made his announcement last Thursday. It was hoped the agreement would assuage Egyptian protesters, but there is still plenty of unrest and violence in Cairo_s streets. Vic, many of Egypts citizens still feel their President has betrayed democracy. It feels like 2011 all over again, Erica. So what has to happen for things to calm down? I think Morsi will have to completely drop his new decree before things return to normal. And all this just a year-and-half after a so-called revolution. But let_s move to Europe for a sec Erica, I hear there_s been a major agreement on Greece_s financial future? That_s right Vic. Following negotiations in Brussels, IMF and Eurozone finance ministers have given the green light on another round of bailouts to the debt-ridden country. But it came at a price Greece agreed to reduce it_s debts by 51 billion dollars. In exchange, Greece will receive nearly 57 billion dollars in the next round of loans. The influx of money means the government will be able to pay wages and pensions in December. Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras is thrilled with the deal, saying quote a new day begins for all Greeks. Back to you Vic. Sounds like positive progress, thanks Erica.
